Families Matter Project
Incarceration affects the whole family. Loved ones often face financial, emotional, and practical challenges while continuing to support an incarcerated family member.
Through the Families Matter Project, Collectively Changing Corrections has completed its first round of assistance to families affected by incarceration. Since then, we have received emails from incarcerated individuals expressing gratitude for the support their families received.
As funding and donations allow, we plan to continue helping families with needs such as food, household expenses, back-to-school supplies, transportation, and other essentials.
Our goal is simple: support the families who continue to stand beside their loved ones despite the challenges incarceration can create.

We have 4 beautiful kids together and to be able to see them was so wonderful! I'm finally after 7 years going home on November 30th 2026 and we want to be apart of what your doing. Youth Builders STL is a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers residents across St. Louis to support one another through hands-on education, mentorship, vocational training, and building projects that strengthen the community. At Collectively Changing Corrections, we are deeply proud of the significant strides we've made. We've successfully created a vital space where incarcerated individuals and their loved ones can find their voice, access crucial advocacy information, and actively participate in the movement for systemic change. Through consistent correspondence, informative newsletters, sharing personal stories, and engaging in community education, we effectively bring critical attention to the conditions within Missouri prisons. Our efforts continuously advocate for essential oversight, meaningful rehabilitation programs, effective reentry preparation, and robust support systems for families.
Advocacy helped contribute to an incarcerated correspondent receiving a medication change after years of seeking appropriate care.
